OANZ's Goal is to contribute to the attainment of a sustainable New Zealand through organic practices.

OANZ's Purpose is to create conditions that enable expansion of the certified organic sector in New Zealand and lead the way to sustainable uses of natural resources that yield the highest quality products whilst improving organic trade and our environment and health.

To achieve this purpose and goal, OANZ is an Incorporated Society, and a Registered Charity under the Charities Act 2005, which recognizes the organic sector's pursuit of environmental and educational aims.
